How to prevent friends from inviting you to events on Facebook
I get a lot of event invitations on Facebook. The problem is, many of the invitations are very poorly targeted. Here are a few examples:
First example: Holiday Hair How To
Why poorly targeted:
- I have no hair.
- I don't do anything with my head for the holidays.
- I live 3,000 miles away from the event.
Second example: Dear Santa Pawz
Why poorly targeted:
Why poorly targeted:
- I have no dog.
- I don't like big Santa events.
- I live 3,000 miles away from the event.
Third example: New Year's Eve Sweat Lodge
Why poorly targeted:
Why poorly targeted:
- The illustration is unnerving to me.
- I sweat plenty as it is.
- I live 3,000 miles away from the event.
Here's how to stop getting event invites from certain friends:
- From anywhere on Facebook, click the down arrow at the top right corner
- Click Privacy Settings
- Go to Blocked People and Apps
- Go to Manage Blocking
- Go to Block Event Invites
- Now go open another tab and call up the Facebook Home page
- Click on Events on the left menu
- Scroll down to see the events you've been invited to
- Get the names of the friends who have invited you to events, and add them to the block list
